Congress Considering Resolution To Make September "Blood Cancer Awareness Month"

Posted on June 27 2010 by Pat Killingsworth | 695 views

Here is an important announcement from Meghan Buzby, Advocacy Assistant for the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF):
Resolution Introduced Recognizing Blood Cancer Awareness Month

Representatives Walther Jones (R-NC) and Betsy Markey (D-CO) recently introduced a resolution (H. Res. 1433) designating September 2010 as Blood Cancer Awareness Month. H. Res. 1433 highlights the impact that the blood cancers have in the United States each year and encourages greater support for blood cancer research and education.

The International Myeloma Foundation is asking every advocate to write or call their U.S. Representative and urge them to support Blood Cancer Awareness Month by co-sponsoring H. Res. 1433. To write your Congressional Representative, please visit the Advocacy Action Center.

Thats cool!  Hope this resolution passes.  Anything to raise awareness about blood cancer and multiple myeloma can’t hurt, right?

Pattie and I are continuing to have technical difficulties with our Help With Cancer site.  Apparently the server I use back in Minnesota crashed.  Everything should be OK by Monday.  At least this site stayed active throughout.  We all face bigger problems regularly, so I try not to get too stressed about the whole thing.  Still, it’s frustrating–when you turn things on they are supposed to work!

Feel good and keep smiling!  Pat
