Thursday I quoted the Associated Press (AP) in a story I did about a new anti-myeloma drug, perifosine. You would have had to read it very carefully, but AP is admiting it made a mistake which is good news for multiple myeloma patients.
NEW YORK Correction: Keryx’s perifosine drug story
In a story July 14 about Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Keryx’s drug candidate perifosine was previously granted orphan drug status as a treatment for colorectal cancer. Perifosine received orphan drug status as a potential treatment for multiple myeloma, and is being tested against colorectal cancer
Another anti-myeloma drug is on the way!
