Yesterday’s post was a bit of a “downer.” It focused on the potential conflict of interest many of our myeloma docs face as they are blanketed with research data paid for by drug companies.
But the news isn’t all bad.
Thank God for anti-myeloma drugs which work–if only for a while. And for good insurance, Medicare and organizations like the Chronic Disease Fund and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), which help pay for our medical care and drugs when insurance or Medicare won’t.
Thank God for our friends, families and caregivers. Thank God we are alive for another holiday season.
How’s that for positive? I know the holidays can be a difficult time for patients and their families facing cancer. But most of us have some options. I’m thankful for that!
Feel good and keep smiling! Pat
