I just completed my second week of my first RVD (Revlimid/Velcade/dex) induction cycle. I get my Velcade/dex IV at a local cancer center 10 minutes from my home. Very convenient.
This place is always busy. There must be forty infusion chairs, tightly packed together. But I couldn’t be more pleased if I were in a private room!
Each of the oncology nurses who have worked with me have been excellent. The past two sessions, an oncology nurse named Roni has handled my IV.
Roni is always dressed in clean, brightly colored, fun scrubs. She is always smiling and attentive. Best of all, she was two for two this week with her IV “sticks.” First time, both times. No digging around. No second or third tries. Stick, in, start. Clean and virtually painless.
So I wanted to give Roni a “shout out” for her excellent work and great aim!
Next week is my off week. But if I did need to go back again next week–no worries! Not with great staff like Roni and her supervisor, Tere. Keep up the great work, ladies!
Feel good and keep smiling! Pat
