Yesterday afternoon, a dear friend with multiple myeloma, Stacey Rohrer, died at her home, surrounded by friends and family, including her two young daughters.
Stacey was diagnosed with an unusually aggressive form of multiple myeloma less than three years ago at the age of 32.
I first met Stacey at one of our support group meetings in Stillwater, Minnesota. Pattie and I had hoped to see her again during our visit last week, but she was too sick to attend the meeting.
Stacey’s mother dutifully attended each meeting with her daughter, even after she was diagnosed with cancer a year or so ago herself.
Since words cannot express to loss felt by Stacey’s friends and family, I have included a number of pictures from her CaringBridge site.
Multiple myeloma doesn’t usually take someone so young. Stacey, you were loved and will be missed.
It is hard for me to keep smiling today – Pat
