Today is the first “cool” day of our early fall season here on Florida’s nature coast north of Tampa. “Cool means it started-out in the low 70’s this morning, with a soothing north breeze. It will get up to the mid-80’s today, but beats the steady march of 90+ degree days we see in August.
The sun is out and I’m comfortably doing some outside chores poolside. I feel GREAT! Yesterday I was dragging a bit. But considering I rarely if ever take a nap, and I’m able to do much of what I could do before my transplant, I would say I’m doing remarkably well.
Our cats are enjoying the weather–although they really don’t seem to mind the heat. Here is a picture of Copper, sleeping on the lanai’ (often called a “Florida room”) overlooking the pool:
Note the plexiglass sliders behind our snoozing boy… The previous owners of our house had these installed just before they sold it to us. They work very well. You can open them all on a beautiful day like today, or keep them closed and use the tiled area inside year ’round.
Of course, Pattie has our Florida room decorated Island style. Lots of fun colors and artwork.
Florida isn’t a perfect place. But hard to complain on a day like today–when I’m feeling as good as I am right now–even if there is a lot to clean and maintain.
Once again, thanks so much for your kind words and well wishes. They helped a lot!
Feel good and keep smiling! Pat
