When you are dealing with cancer or other life and death issues, it may seem silly to get all wrapped-up in a college football game.
But I can’t help myself. Pattie and I both graduated from the University of Wisconsin–and we are serious fans.
Last night for the second week in a row, our beloved Wisconsin Badger football team lost a tough road game on a long, last minute pass. Our team went from one of the top ranked teams in the country to also-rans in a few short minutes.
Since writing is how I cope with my cancer, I was hoping jotting this down would help.
Funny how seriously people can take insignificant things. We weren’t players in tonight’s game. We didn’t miss any tackles, or allow that last minute pass to lose the game. So why feel bad about it?
Come to think about it–I’m starting to feel better already. Sharing with friends will do that for you.
And the games were exciting! A welcome diversion from pain and my recent medical issues. Like Bucky, I’m due for some good luck soon, don’t you think?
Feel good and keep smiling! Pat
