Still very slow on the myeloma front. But incredible and hopeful news about immunotherapies continue to steal the show here at ASCO.
First, did you happen to see the report about T-DM1 last night on NBC News? Here is a link to Robert Bazell’s report:
Targeting tumors with fewer side-effects

Encouraging news, don’t you think?
Next, Here are links to two additional HelpWithCancer.org blog posts I have written about surprisingly good clinical trial results involving monoclonal antibodies, immunotherapy and ASCO:
More about immunotherapy
One last (for now) immunotherapy follow-up: Hope for skin, lung and kidney patients, too!
Those of you that read my blogs and/or columns regularly know that I am a positive guy–but a bit jaded and not easily impressed by cancer cure hype, especially when it involves new therapies which promise to work on several different types of cancer.
But maybe our hard working myeloma research friends can learn from the latest immonotherapy breakthroughs in solid tumor therapy and come-up with some time saving short cuts.
I hate to give you homework on a weekend, but make sure that you read the New York Times article about immuntherapy I use as a centerpiece for today’s second HWC post:
Drug Helps Defense System Fight Cancer
Fascinating. Especially the part about how “the results are an improvement to the approach of harnessing the immune system to fight cancer, a field that has had a history of failures.
A small but very important step that’s worth celebrating!
Feel good and keep smiling! Pat
