I’ve got some exciting news. My good friend and founder of the CrowdCare Foundation, Jenny Ahlstrom, announced the two groundbreaking clinical trials we plan to help fund today.
Regular readers will remember that I’m a member of CrowdCare Foundation’s Patient Advisory Board. We’ve spent the last eight months searching for underfunded research most likely to help high risk and late stage myeloma patients. I’ll post the official press release tomorrow. In the meantime, check this out:
The Myeloma Crowd Initiative is thrilled to announce two beginning proposals it has selected for the MCRI crowdsourcing and patient-led funding initiative. This is the first time that a united group of patients have joined with myeloma researchers to find and fund a cure for high-risk myeloma. Multiple myeloma expert Dr. Rafael Fonseca, MD of the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale said, “The study of high-risk myeloma should be one of the top priorities for myeloma researchers. New and radically different treatment approaches are needed.”
You can read about the two clinical trials we’re supporting here:
Both of the projects involve cutting edge T cell immunotherapy. I’m hoping this line of research holds the key to the survival of late stage patients like me.
Hope springs eternal.
Feel good and keep smiling! Pat
